Prolegomena
prole°gom°e°non [proh-li-gom-uh-non, -nuhn]:
1. A preliminary discussion; introductory essay, as prefatory matter in a book; a prologue.
2. Usually, prolegomena. (sometimes used with a singular verb) a treatise serving as a preface or introduction to a book.
Prolegomena is an online philosophy journal for undergraduate students published at the University of British Columbia. The first issue was published in June 2000. Papers selected cover a wide range of philosophical topics. Prolegomena publishes at least once a year, where date(s) are determined anually by that year's editorial committee.
The Prolegomena is open to submissions of student-authored, academic papers for its 2011/2012 edition.
Papers must be between 10-15 pages, double-spaced, and on a relevantly philosophical topic. Applicants are asked to include an abstract with their submission and submit both in the format of a word document attached to an e-mail sent to:
prolegomenaed@gmail.com.
Please include the title of the paper, name of the author and affiliated institution. Submissions will be judged according to their quality of argument and scholarly presentation.
