PSA Mission Statement
The Philosophy Students' Association is an Arts Undergraduate Society club that encourages a sense of community amongst students
in the philosophy department and any others interested in philosophy. During the school year, we host "Meet the Profs" receptions, wine and cheese nights, and weekly reading groups. The PSA also publishes The Prolegomena, an online undergraduate journal. The PSA endeavours to:
Provide members with information regarding future opportunities in the form of colloquiums, contests, presentations of papers, research, and higher levels of education, in an effort to provide the member with means of advancement and experience;
Encourage dialogue vis-à-vis the establishment of ‘reading groups,’ in which philosophical, political, historical, scientific, and other such intellectual and notable works can be critically evaluated and discussed, in order to achieve a more thorough and substantive understanding of the work in question;
Organize social functions in conjunction with other organizations;
Orchestrate panel discussions, involving faculty members and those actively involved in the University, in order to present various perspectives and approaches to areas of interest.
