Prolegomena is an online philosophy journal for undergraduate students published at the University of British Columbia. The first issue was published in June 2000. Papers selected cover a wide range of philosophical topics; reflected in the name. The Oxford English Dictionary defines prolegomenon as a preliminary discourse prefixed to a literary work; esp. a learned preface or preambleis. The editors hope that papers submitted to Prolegomena will each serve as preface to a future in philosophical thought.

The 2009 (Phoenix) edition of the Prolegomena is online, featuring three articles by talented undergraduates from across North America on topics as divergent as Kantian mathematics and Parfit on personal identity. The editor would like to sincerely thank those who helped bring this issue to publication, specifically: Michelle Pham; Thomas Vogl; Shea Clare; and Jordan Kroll. Thank you also to all those who offered submissions. We are now accepting submissions for the 2010 edition.
