- Two official copies of transcripts from all colleges and university work sent directly to the Philosophy Department in sealed and endorsed envelopes issued by the institution. Detailed information on transcript requirements for Canadian and International students is found on the Faculty of Graduate website: http://www.grad.ubc.ca/prospective-students/application-admission/canadian-transcripts
- Three confidential letters of reference from former instructors: http://www.grad.ubc.ca/prospective-students/application-admission/letters-reference
- A brief statement of your interests in philosophy. (You can mail a separate document or use the space provided in the on-line application.)
- A short, recent paper that gives an indication of your ability to criticize, analyze or develop characteristically philosophical arguments, preferably in the area in which you wish to specialize. Printed hard copy mailed to the department is preferred.
- TOEFL or IELTS results, if proof of English Language requirement is needed (see Admission Guidelines).
Please have transcripts, letters of reference (if hard copy is chosen) and your writing sample mailed directly to the department:
